The Queen [of sixteen realms including but not limited to United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland, Canada, Australia, Papua New Guinea, New Zealand, and Jamaica], 84, became a great-grandmother for the first time when the wife of her grandson Peter Phillips gave birth to a baby girl, Buckingham Palace said on Thursday

I am sure you will all be delighted to join me in wishing the dear old Queen and her grand-daughter-in law on the birth.

You may recall that young Peter played for the Scottish Schools at rugby unon, and subsequently switched codes to play league for Exeter University ... I'm surprised he never made our National squad...

SC

Edit: I am surprised that his mother, as a staunch unionist, allowed him to play league at all ... maybe this is something that Mr Mr might like to open up, but I'll just doff my cap and let it lie...

. . . Congrats, Royals and UK! But why did this not make front page medical news? Must be a first, after all:
