prk888 Posted January 2, 2011 Posted January 2, 2011 Just an information update .............. on 29th September i wrote that a sea-water swamp was infilled one day and building piling started on the following day. Pleased to report that by Christmas (under 3 months) there are now about 48 small but attractive bungalows with patios, swimming pools, water features, gardens, trees & lawns and security walls/gates with very attractive steelwork. All known as "Pinnacle Pool Wing" and some occupants sunbathing already. Deadlines seem to have been met (Russian money we hear). I must say that the productivity matched even Hong Kong's speed and overall looks very appealing. How long before the cracks start is anyone's guess. Surrounding roads still a disaster. Must wait for Part 3 on that update.
thaibeachlovers Posted January 2, 2011 Posted January 2, 2011 I'm not a builder either, but seems to me it would depend on how deep the piles went as to whether ground subsidence caused building problems, like cracks. If they reach solid ground and are sufficient in number should support the buildings adequately. The lawn/ drive might be another matter. Are the roads included in the project, or the city's responsibility? If the latter, don't hold your breath! Of concern to me, is a 6 story building near Soi Buakhao that has been constructed with minimal reinforcing steel, posts very far apart and the usual unvibrated concrete. IMO, wouldn't take much for it to collapse, and that's not exactly a rarity in LOS!
mr.buffalo Posted January 3, 2011 Posted January 3, 2011 When was the last major building collapse in Thailand?
FarangBuddha Posted January 3, 2011 Posted January 3, 2011 When was the last major building collapse in Thailand? We're still holding our breath on Central Beach...especially now that they've added the weight of the Hilton Hotel onto the original structure
pipo1000 Posted January 3, 2011 Posted January 3, 2011 When was the last major building collapse in Thailand?
