Cat With Feline Leukaemia Virus ( Felv )

Recommended Posts

hi there

our 3-years old cat has infected with the feline leukaemia virus ( FeLV ), an incurable cancerous disease that destroys the immune system.

anyone knows a good vet or specailised CAT clinic that could manage it ? post-infected treatment available in UK and US, could we import them into Thailand.

many thanks !

Go to the main Thonglor hospital.

Best of luck.

hi blyish

thanks for info, I will check with them soon !

this Thursday, the FeLV virus isolation test result from the cat clinic of the Kasetsart Vet Hospital, then we could plan further.

thanks . . .

Thonglor has specialists. Look through their website and then book an appointment with the appropriate specialist, rather than just a general vet. I always read bios and try to book with somebody who doesn't look too young (the more experience, the better).

hi blyish

thanks ! and a very good news here - our cat is actually free from FeLV !

we bought our cat to Kasetsart Vet Teaching Hospital and they did a virus isolation test, negative ! the DVM explained possibly a testing error from the first vet, who use the ELISA test kit !

for you information, a very good ( and very senior ) DVM at the cat clinic at Kaset hospital. she manages a lot of critical cases there ( touch wood something we all don't expect it happens to our our cats ). yet, you need at lot of time and patient there !

thanks again

cheers

I'm really glad to hear that! I adore my babies, so I know how it feels when they're sick.

Thanks for the info. Hopefully I'll never need it but it's good to know of a good vet.
