pjclark1
Never had a problem at Index. They have a wide selection of mattresses and beds. The staff know little about the products they are selling and their English skills are weak, but that's standard for Thailand. However, it's not difficult to check and confirm with a little Thai, the invoice and some English when you get to the check out stage. I prefer sales staff to leave me alone when I'm buying anyway. How do you find out the price then? The marked price means nothing, you need a salesperson to discuss the actual price.

From my post: "...it's not difficult to check and confirm with a little Thai, the invoice and some English when you get to the check out stage." Discussion of price occurs at this stage. Do I really need to explain this? Edited January 10, 2011 by Loaded
ChiangMaiFun
It's pretty obvious you should check, check and re-check - TIT

pjclark1
Next problem I needed the water regulator valve that goes on the inlet to a shower 'Walve kruang tam naam ron' Plumbing supply shops, visited about 10, didn't know what it was, when I pointed at one hanging off a shower unit, didn't sell it. (Unless I bought it with a new shower heater) Got one today after 3 days of searching, in one of the big supermarkets, they didn't sell them either but the sales assistant 'had one in his car'. Meet you in the car park in 30 minutes ....... bring 300bht. Expensive, but I just couldn't be bothered looking any more!
