Comehome Posted February 15, 2011 Posted February 15, 2011 Hi! Havn't heard anything about the doctor you are asking about but I have heard many good things about Dr.Pramote Manurangse at Yanhee hospital. I have no personal experience with him but from what I've heard, people say he is the best on facelifts in Yanhee. Take care, Comehome
Sheryl Posted February 15, 2011 Posted February 15, 2011 And I and several others on this forum had great experience with Dr. Amorn Poomee at Bumrungrad for facelift. And he has also been highly recommended for bleph (eyes) Others have also recommended Dr. Pricha (Pricha Aesthetic Institute) Be warned though that precisely because they are so well known and well regarded, both of these doctors tend to be booked far in advance, something to factor in if coming from abroad for the procedure. As for your proposed doctor's qualifications, I believe he is US Board Certified in Plastic/Reconstructive Surgery, always a good sign, but please confirm that yourself, can find his CV on the Bumrungrad website.

Look for Board Certification in Plastic/Reconstructive Surgery from a Western country. Agree with you there. Heard a lot of good things about Dr.Amorn Poomee at Bumrungrad and Dr.Preecha too. Isn't it Preecha who has his own clinic in Thonglor called PAI? Just trying to sort things out.
Beechboy Posted February 15, 2011 Posted February 15, 2011 As a rule any surgeon who makes it to the staff of Bumrungrad Cosmetic Surgery department is of a high standard. Poomee is known to be the best, the senior if you like, and charges extra. Your treatment will likely be first rate. You have been listening to some nonsense about eyelid surgery .... it is a bit prone to bruising early days .... but does not hurt. In fact the whole process will be relatively painless and you will be able to face the public after about seven days, maybe earlier with sunglasses. Important: avoid exercise, alcohol and sun for a month. I did not and caused a keloid, which is now removed. I played golf in the sunand drank too much. There comes a day when you wake up delighted that you went to the trouble and expense.
Filer Posted February 16, 2011 Posted February 16, 2011 Hi ladies, My wife is planning some face-lift surgery and intends to go for an initial consultation at Bungrumrad Hospital, Bangkok, in view of their substantial cosmetic surgery department and an apparently good reputation. Has any Thaivisa member undertaken any cosmetic surgery of this type at Bungrumrad and have any useful comments on any of the individual cosmetic surgery specialists there? Dr Amorn Poomee clearly seems to be well regarded among posters to this thread, but are there any other specific suggestions? My wife wants to minimise the need to consult ‘cold’ with one of the 25 or so specialists in this field at the hospital She had some very successful treatment of this type in London some years back, but wants an ‘update’ now and is ideally looking for someone who is comfortable working on a European face. We are happy to receive any comments or suggestions by PM as well as by postings.
alyx Posted February 18, 2011 Posted February 18, 2011 I had some job done in Manila and quite happy about the result It was an opportunity for holidays as well, as the surgery was slightly cheaper (the difference was used for the trip and the stay) Incidentally I am bringing my (Asian) friend over there in a couple of month for a bleph If interested you may PM me PS I am caucasian
Comehome Posted February 19, 2011 Posted February 19, 2011 Hi! It is of course easier to go to and meet the surgeons in person but if you don't have time or feel like doing so i know that some hospitals have virtual consultation over the internet and if you choose to go through an agent , i think most agents will ask for pictures in advance to send for surgeons evaluation before the client actually arrive to Thailand. Just thought it could be an alternative to do it online and have a rough idea of what can be done and an approx. price for the procedure. Take care! Comehome
