January 13, 201115 yr Thursday, February 10, 2011 @ 6:30 PM -- Open Auditions for 'Rumors' by Neil Simon -- Pattaya Players (Home of Pattaya's ProfessionalAmateurs) is proud to announce their upcoming audition for 'Rumors' by NeilSimon. There are 10 parts foradult males and females of varying ages. Though this is mostly an ensemble cast production, it will nonethelessrequire savvy and experienced actors willing to take on especially challengingroles. Auditions will be held at The Eastern Grand Palace Hotel at 6:30 PM onThursday, February 10, 2011. Allinterested parties both talent-wise and back stage should plan onattending. Character Descriptions: Chris Gorman -- Female (212 lines) Upper middle classand high-strung Ken Gorman -- Male (241 lines) Professionalwell-groomed and high-strung Claire Ganz -- Female (239 lines) YuppyishWestchester housewife type Lenny Ganz -- Male (275 lines) Not the smartest, butvery likeable Cookie Cusack -- Female (110 lines) Gaudy dresser,very dramatic, physical comedy Ernie Cusack -- Male (147 lines) Brow-beaten businessman Cassie Cooper -- Female (72 lines) Very dry, caustic sense of humor Glenn Cooper -- Male (165 lines) Just wants everyone to be happy Officer Welch -- Male (80 lines) Imposing burlytype Officer Pudney -- Female (2 lines) No nonsense type 'Rumors' centers around four couples who arrive atthe townhouse of a Deputy Mayor and his wife to attend a party celebratingtheir tenth wedding anniversary. However, the four couples soon discover thatthere are no servants, the hostess is missing and the Deputy Mayor has shothimself in the head (though it's only a flesh wound). Comic complications arisewhen, given everyone's upper class status, they decide they need to doeverything possible to conceal the evening's events from the local police andthe media.
