sunholidaysun1
I was once at the scene of a motorbike crash where the rider lost control on a bend and drove straight into a concrete post at speed. I went to his aid but sadly the man had been killed instantly . The Thai onlookers were laughing ! I didnt say anything to the 5 who thought it funny but I was very distressed myself and didnt want to make matters worse , so kept quiet. The Ambulance arrived shortly after and took him away . I then moved on myself. I have no explanation as to why these people thought the death of another was funny, yet there have been many instances where laughing hides the more serious side of a Thai that we cannot see , it could be just to hide their own insecurities of life. MJP
MJP : Such as what ? That this is particularly cruel and heartless culture, almost void of humanity? I'm sick of pulling punches here. Let's face it.
sunholidaysun1
A smile between the ears but not much else . I agree that finding a Thai with true heart felt emotions is near on impossible unless you count the crying on Thai Drama's. Death , injury , accident , something of importance , they are unable to cope with so laugh or plead total ignorance .
