Forums - for people with nothing better to do.

Or for people who want to find info re:travel, banking, real estate, autos, gardening, movies, etc, etc, etc....

That too. However it doesn't take thousands of posts to find a bit of info. Then again, I guess regular forum users make things more interesting and can supply valuable information to lesser users who need a quick answer.

A lot of these people might be suffering from an incurable chronic bitching syndrome.

ICBS?

It's everywhere!

Come on, people... I see BS.

Try to keep up here...

If someone has got a few thousand plus posts then I think that answers your question. Some people obviously don't have a job or kids .

p.s. see previous posts about " go fish " as more proof !!

Some posters are not in the best of health and unable to get out very often.

For the a few that have suffered strokes, have heart conditions, elderly or health issues, the computer has become they`re main source of entertainment and communication with the outside world.

There are a multitude of reasons for frequenting forums other than just having no job or children.

As usual BJ (not sure i should be calling you bj laugh.gif) Anyway blowie, you are spot on, thats what im trying to say. Theres some real old codgers on thai visa & no doubt its easier for them to get online and brag about past time than to go out and live in the future. Its sad alot of the elderly here are wasting their final moments tapping away on a keyboard.

ND, if its sad the elderly.........

Begs the question, how old are you?;)

Probably younger than you jimmy  . I tap away on the keyboard when Im home doing other stuff & that comes in spits n spats. I still spend alot of time doing all the other things in life (well the ones that i can still do here in los). I don't sleep much, just a few hours a day

Why would anyone work when they don't have to?:D

Of course, some of us work at a computer most of the day and taking the odd respite into the thaivisa world is a diversion.

But, it REALLY, REALLY bothers a lot of people when some of us "old folks" actually DO get out and relive the life they had in their twenties. I have a hard time getting that shit eating grin off my face.:D

You go for it Ian. I see so much 'life' in your pictures & who gives a flying what others think. I just like stirring you up, but I couldnt possibly be responsible for any of those posters floating about

Definitely got to be careful with those spits and spats on the screen. Difficult to wipe off.

I suspect life was quite conservative in the 1820's.

" My dearest IanForbes. I hope life is treating you well. Wasn't it tragic to hear of dear, dear Ludwig's demise? But all is not lost. Father has a special treat for us this evening on the veranda. Mr.Mark45yr, the world renowned adventurer, raconteur and explorer is coming over to regale us with tales of his latest trip up the Amazon river in a clockwork sieve. I do so enjoy his tales of daring do and slow but steady demise into drooling, jabbering senility. Although I hope he doesn't bore us once again with the recollection as to how he invented water. Yours, Kitty. "

In that case it's the 1820s you are talking about. :)

Not at all, Rakers. Some of us were chasing buffalo and trapping beaver at that time, and being chased in return by the locals Did it ever occur to you how I lost my hair?

I have to say ( and completely off topic -sorry ) but seeing that emoticon reminds me of a phrase in my younger days my stoner mate said when a concerned fellow toker asked him if his eyes looked ok before going home to face his family after a couple of bongs.

" Shit no mate. You look like a wanking Jap. "

And here you are almost 200 years later, chasing beaver and paying for sick buffalo.

Scalped by those noble savages eh Ian? Shit. I had a tenner on you working with Marie Curie and getting radiation poisoning. My bad and my loss.

Yup, too much free time. Could be worse: going to work everyday. Now I do miss work sometimes, but not that much.

I could work in Thailand but (no offence intended) I would not earn much. So I save myself up for when I go back to the UK (probably in the spring when its warmer).

I am in Bangkok; you can get bored here (especially when you realise all those friendly Thai girls are only like that because they like your wallet). Anyway got a long term girlfriend, and we are pretty happy and she doesn't ask for much.

Ok, time to surface and find some more food... :)
