Maestro
I understand its a far easier life than UK male with Thai wife when it comes to visa extension.Or is it?What are the differences for a UK lady with a Thai husband here currently on a three month non immigrant O.What do they have to show immigration? Go to this site of the Immigration Bureau (works with Microsoft Internet Explorer but not with Mozilla Firefox) In the left frame, click on “Required documents”, then on the folder icon next to “Visa Extension”, then on the box next to the second item from the top “to receive the support from a husband who is a Thai citizen or a Thai permanent resident (an alien wife)” The “record of the interview of the applicant and her husband” is a document presumably created by the Immigration Bureau. Incidentally, you can download that form TM-7 on the ThaiVisa site at this location.

lopburi3
I would suggest you post your question in the Ladies in Thailand forum as they have first hand information and can probably provide better details.
Maestro
it appears no one has to show they possess any cash at all. Well, with your friend’s Thai husband being a “permanent resident in Royal Thailand” there is that requirement of “Evidence of husband's income together with related documents such as: - Bank pass-book; Bank Statement from the Bank the applicant has an account; Evidence of working and income”. No minimum set; it’s all up to the immigration office. As Lopburi says, you can learn about other foreign wives’ actual experience regarding extension of a non-O visa by posting on the “Ladies in Thailand” forum. This should give you a much clearer idea. In the end, your friend and her husband will have to talk it over with the immigration officer.
