The FCCT with support from the British Embassy are showing the film 'This Prison Where I Live' at 8:00 pm on Wednesday 9 February at the Foreign Correspondents Club Thailand. The comedian Maung Thura, better known as Zarganar

This is a documentary about one of Burma's heroes, the comedian Maung Thura, better known as Zarganar, who was jailed for criticising the generals after leading a private relief effort to deliver aid to victims of Cyclone Nargis. He was condemned in 2008 to 59 years behind bars, now reduced to 35 years in a remote jail in the country's far north.

This film - described as 'captivating' by the Financial Times in London - began in 2007, when Zarganar agreed to be interviewed by British filmmaker Rex Bloomstein, despite being banned from all forms of artistic activity and talking to foreign media.
