Hi all I would like to know if I have a poker pro gramme already loaded on my laptop ie FULLTILT before I enter LOS can I play once I am connected to Internet.

Gambling (Poker) on line is illegal in Thailand.

yes u can, i was in pattaya last month and downloaded and played pokerstars no problem so im sure fulltilt will b the same, was in laos as well and no probs playin pokerstars or titan.

i know of guys livin in thailand and making a living playin online poker, nice way to live!

no idea of the legalities of it, if u already have say pokerstars on your laptop is it still illegal to play?

It's illegal and ISPs have to keep records of what you're doing online. Also Gov't blocks many sites.

Up to you if you want to risk jail time, but remember family card games playing for loose Baht coins get busted on a regular basis.

No problem to play poker online in Thailand. A lot of players do it and most pokersites are not blocked by ISPs.

Just remember that you do it in your own apartment or hotel room , if you do it in public you can in worst case get arrested.

I have played poker as a hobby for many years in and out of Thailand , never had any problems.

As is usual in Thailand, there is the law and there is reality. It is illegal to gamble in Thailand, and that includes on-line gambling from your laptop. If you get caught, the penalties could actually be quite severe. ISPs do monitor internet traffic, and so if you gamble from your laptop whilst in Thailand, you do so in the knowledge that someone may know what you are doing...

As for Laos, I assume that since casinos operatec legally in that country, then on-line gambling is also legal, but you need to check this if you propose to gamble from that country.
