Led Hazard Lights

Featured Replies

Tried to do a search on this but wasn't able to find anything.

I had changed my headlights on my Civic to HID, so I decided to change my front hazard lights as well with white two LED bulbs. Didn't do any extra wiring just switched the bulbs, just recently both of them went out thinking the bulbs were bad I tried switching back to the originals with no luck.

About 3 days later my both of my tails lights as well as the lights for the plates went out, so checked the fuse for them and it looked fine, I decided to take it to the dealer as it s still under warranty. First thing they suspected was that the LED bulbs may have caused the entire fuse box to short, and since I put in LED bulbs it would not be under warranty and to change it would cost about 8,000 thb.

I doubt that two small LED bulbs would be enough to short a fuse box, has anybody ever had this happen to them before?

No, it hasn't happened to me but I bet Honda can say that they have never had a Civic where the electrics supplying the headlights, hazard and the tail lights only have blown and it coincides perfectly with the owner changing to non standard lamps in that area too

Sorry Arkom, it wouldn't have happened had you not changed to a different type of lamps - Clearly warranty broken

Would be inclined to think that LED is the culprit if it all went out at same time. Anyways was told by Honda dealer all they did was change LED back to normal blubs and it works fine, very strange as I had already tired that with no luck...

Good, time to thank Honda for finding a solution that doesn't cost lots of money then :)

Don't get me wrong I love Honda, fist car back in the US was also a Honda and had it for 6 years. I also used similar LED lights with no problems, which is why I didn't they were the reason for going bad. But happy that it's not gonna cost my 8,000 thb!! :D
