I have, for the last 18 months been living and working in Thailand and surrounding countries for my UK employer on a Non-IM B visa. I am employed by a UK based company and paid directly into my UK account in sterling. I have recently declared to the Inland Revenue that i have emigrated and therefore stop taking PAYE tax from my every month. No problem, they say, we will stop it at once. Now, do i need to start paying Tax in Thailand? I have an account with Kassikorn that i transfer money into now and again, but i generally used my UK accounts for day-to-day cash withdrawals. Or can i just get away with paying no Tax? Thanks people!

Unless you have a Thai work permit or transfer your UK salary into Thailand on a regular basis you should get away without paying Thai income tax. Don't even ask if it's legal!

Thanks, i'll keep my money in my UK bank and live with the 150 baht withdrawal fee!

Legal? pah!

You can avoid the 150 baht fee by going to an Aeon ATM, in this area there is one in the main entrance to every bigc centre.
