Trouble Getting Medical Certificate

Featured Replies

I'm trying to get a multiple entry type "O" retirement visa. I have all the necessary paper work but the health certificate. I have no insurance, no primary doctor, or health care that I use on a regular basis. My county health department has cleared me on the sysphilis and TB. The several doctors that I have asked to sign for me have wanted to give me alot of tests that I don't need or have the money for. They will not sign off without the tests due to legal reasons. Does anyone have any suggestions on how to get this gone without it costing me a fortune ?? I live in the USA.

Maybe fly to Thailand, get all the medical checks done there and doctor sing offs where it is a fraction of the cost in the US, then go off to Malaysia or Singapore for your visa? Just an off the cuff suggestion.

You don't need any medicals for a multiple O visa. Medicals only apply in the case of O-A visa's.

Pat, he did say O-retirement which is an O-A. :o

Whatever, I'll second the suggestion to get a tourist visa, he should be able to convert and extend in BKK (or buzz down to Penang) at a much reduced cost.

Anyone know a reason he won't be able to convert a tourist to an O-A type?

An O and an O-A are the same other than the 12 month grant of stay on first arrival. IMHO going the O route is infinitely simpler than the O-A with police clearances medicals and notorization. A TR visa can be amended to an O at Immigration for a fee.

opsssss my bad "OA"Visa

opsssss my bad "OA"Visa
Whoever said an O-A was bad ?

I believe this is an “Eats, shoots and leaves” situation, i.e. bad punctuation on the part of oguardshack, in this case a missing comma after “opsssss” and a missing colon after “bad”, combined with bad English or an attempt at Thai-speak: “my bad” instead of “my mistake”, a reference to the typing error “AO” in his earlier post.

The single biggest problem in communication is the illusion that it has taken place

Hey Maestro (I used to drive one, 'orrible thing it was too), your link is to a very clean and sanitised version of the panda joke :o

This one is much better ... no, maybe not, I'll get hung by the mods, ouch :D
