I applied for a double entry in KL, Vientiane and Saigon last 5 months and they asked for a ticket for the second trip -to- Thailand. Bus- or planeticket. Is this still the case?

Am going next week to Vientiane.

Thank you.

Well, in the first week of January 2011 Vientiane asked for a ticket to Thailand (2nd entry to Thailand)..

The thing is that many buscompanies don't sell ticket 2 months in advance...

Does anybody know if busstation in Vientiane sells tickets to Nongkhai 2 months in advance?

This happened to you? Was anyone else asked? Did your passport have a number of such visas? Have seen hundreds of reports of using Vientiane but not of having to show second entry tickets.

No it wasn't only me. I had only 1 single entry tourist visa. But I did think the personnel was a bit uptight. There was quite a hassle with other people, I thought the personnel was actually quite rude to tourists/expats.

What I could do is go to the embassy the same morning I enter the boarder and ask them. But knowing before is hand is of course more convenient.

I found this post elsewhere today, it's not about a tourist visa, but I think it's similar.

Just back from Laos and very happy to have a shiny new Ed visa in my passport.

There were around 350 people at the embassy yesterday and many who had used Non B visas in their passport managed to get tourist visas but with a single entry only.

The lady stated that this was going to be the policy of the embassy from here on in so those looking to get 2 entries you might want to try Cambodia instead

Some Thai embassies and consulates are for a copy of airline tickets with an application for a tourist visa but most do not.
