Yes it is open.

They are only wavering overstays for people affected by flights or ferry connections, but not for people staying here long term with transport problems.:whistling:

They are waiving the 500 baht a day fine until April 3rd (go figure that, it's a Sunday ) ......

Friend on KP, hoping to come tomorrow, just phoned & told me that.

I highly doubt they will staying open over the week end...... but you never know!

WELL ....NOT WAIVING the 500 baht a day fine...... my friend did get over from KP this morning on Lomprayah (it's arriving in Nanton at the moment) ...

He had phoned S.I. yesterday to ask the question when he was told they were waiving until the 3rd.... Obviously that policy changed over night.....:o:blink:

Immigration office will be closed from Wednesday April 13 until Monday April 18th

(Their sign just says 13th to 15 th) but you can bet your boots, they won't be open on the weekend ....

So if you have a Visa renewal that has to done during this time span, DO IT TUESDAY April 12 !!!!

Many people were having arguments about it being closed on week-end and that they should not have to pay the 500 baht a day fine.... when they are closed...

Response : "You not pay fine, we not give you visa" No if ands or buts!

I'd suggest getting their as early as you can, since they seem to be dealing with hundreds of Burmese passports...

When has Koh Samui Immigration been open on a Saturday jimmy? I've never gone over on Saturday because I assumed they are closed.

Good decision.

Well.... I never said was, I was pointing out the fact (more for tourists or "newbies", who would be less likely to know or may be confused :o)

It was just that their sign just says, closed 13 to 15 th... Just trying to save them have having to cough up to 2500 baht for being late... (if their visa date, is say Wednesday) That was more the point! ;):D
