Jose
On 16th March 2011 large plumes of radioactive Iodine-131 and Xenon-133 were released from the Fukushima I power plant in Japan. Eight days later prevailing seasonal winds brought the contamination to approx 1000km west of Koh Samui before it begun to dissipate. This map of the radioactive fallout (animated Gif, takes a while to load) is updated about a week behind on a daily basis. Although Iodine-131 and Xenon-133 have a relatively short half-life, care should be taken to avoid dairy products from contaminated areas specially where children are concerned.
