I have to go and get a tourist visa at the end of this month.

Can anyone advise me on where is best for for me to go for a guaranteed double-entry tourist visa..?

Am i right to assume now they are no longer free, the consulates will give me one if i pay..?

Saigon, without a doubt. Excellent service with a smile. Flying is often cheaper than PP and certainly cheaper than Vientiane. Hotels and food cheaper. Much, much cleaner. Brewpubs to boot and lots of attractions. Excellent food.

All the above lacking in PP or Vientiane.

If you want details, I posted my trip here: http://www.thaivisa.com/forum/topic/425299-saigon-visa-run/page__p__4083563__fromsearch__1#entry4083563

And your report was specifically not for a two entry visa and quoted a need for flights if such a request was to be made.

Flights to Saigon for the date i need are only 3700 baht return.. great!! Penang is 4900. But i don't want to go all the way there if no double entry.. also Malaysia is free entry for us English-types to enter. So penang is cheaper.. But CAN I GET A DOUBLE-ENTRY TOURIST VISA THERE?

Penang does not issue double entry.
