MANILA, PHILIPPINES (BNO NEWS) -- An American man was freed on Wednesday in southern Philippines after three months, police said.

Milton Taylor, also known as Sam Taylor, was kidnapped on January 12 in the Mindanao city of Cagayan de Oro, where he was last seen at a hotel in the company of some friends. According to Senior Superintendent Rodolfo Llorca, a provincial police chief, the 53-year-old was released in the outskirts of Marawi City around 2 p.m.

Taylor, a resident of Las Vegas, Nevada, underwent X-ray following his release and was found to be in good condition, GMA News reported.

Llorca said no ransom was paid in exchange for Taylor's release. He added that the victim's release was due to pressure from an operation led by the Police Anti-Crime Emergency Response.

The kidnappers have not been identified.
