Thanks to postings from contributors here, I was able to get Lexapro at Southeast with no problem: I just showed them my nearly empty US-sourced prescription bottle of 20 mg.

The shelf behind the counter held only the 10-mg box. The woman disappeared into the store-room for a few minutes and emerged with a 20-mg box.

My actual dosage is 10 mg; to save money, I buy the larger size and use a pill cutter, as my doctor suggested. In the US, the price difference between the two doses is only 5%, which is nuts, so cutting a 20-mg tablet there is like getting two for the price of one, albeit still very expensive: Forest Labs has jacked up the price big time to rake in the money before they lose patent exclusivity next March. In the US, one can even order a year's worth in one bottle now (as opposed to the previous maximum of 90 pills), which they're happy to sell you at the current, high, pre-generic price.

Here the 20-mg dose costs 35% more than the 10-mg dose, but that still results in savings: Bt1,100 for 10 mg; Bt1,500 for 20 mg, or an effective Bt750 for 10 mg (when splitting 20 mg), a savings of over 30% from Bt1,100.

These prices are about half of what I pay in the US through an Internet pharmacy, and here I needn't get a prescription.

Thanks for the helpful advice from contributors here!
