The Pattaya City Disaster Relief Center quickly responded to the emergency call, ensuring that no one was harmed in the incident. Police Lieutenant Colonel Phuttharak Sonkhamhan led the charge as fire brigades battled the flames that started in Room 1911 on the building’s 19th floor. Thick smoke added to the confusion, but diligent efforts saw residents ushered to safety with no casualties reported. The firefighting teams employed water jets and chemical suppressants to douse the inferno while managing the ensuing chaos effectively. Preliminary investigations identified a possible electrical short circuit as the culprit, causing the air conditioner's compressor in the affected room to malfunction. An unidentified foreign tourist, temporarily residing in the scorched room, had left the air conditioner on while running errands, unknowingly sparking the fiery drama. Vigilant bystanders quickly raised the alarm, ensuring a swift evacuation as safety crews arrived. Despite the dramatic scenes, no injuries or fatalities have been reported, thanks to the prompt actions of residents and emergency services. Investigations are ongoing as authorities, led by Police Lieutenant Colonel Phuttharak, collect evidence to uncover the root cause of the fire. Are high end smartphones worth the money (to you)?
Not particularly. I have iPhone 16e, not for the high-end features but because I needed a new phone so I decided to get a late model that will hopefully last a few years before it's obsolete. I got an iPhone (vs Android) because I like the Apple ecosystem, having an iPad and a Mac as well. But I don't really use the high-end features. I also have a Samsung A25, which at under $200 I would not consider a high-end phone. It does everything I need, but I do miss the Apple ecosystem. -

Out of 200 senators, these individuals are accused of engaging in bloc-voting and vote-buying schemes, which may lead the Election Commission to revoke their status retroactively, triggering by-elections to replace them. The Department of Special Investigation (DSI) had earlier pointed fingers at 138 senators, primarily affiliated with the Bhumjaithai Party, for suspected involvement in orchestrated electoral fraud. An ad hoc committee, with members from the polling agency and DSI, is compiling evidence for the Election Commission's review. If charges are confirmed, cases will be forwarded to the Supreme Court for a final verdict and potential legal penalties. An estimated 500 million baht might have been utilised to manipulate the election, as suspected by the investigating panel. In a related move, the DSI is expected to bring money-laundering and criminal conspiracy charges against numerous pro-Bhumjaithai senators. Thailand's Justice Minister Thavi Sodsong, aligned with Prime Minister Paetongtarn Shinawatra's circles, has sanctioned a special lawsuit, heightening public interest in the matter. In response, some senators have denied any wrongdoing, challenging the DSI's allegations. The Bhumjaithai Party has also rejected claims of electoral rigging. Unlike the MPs election, last year's senatorial vote involved a unique and complicated system spread across district, provincial, and national levels, allowing contestants to vote multiple times. The outcome could see significant shifts if these senators are stripped of their positions, impacting the current political landscape.
