Atopic Dermatitis (Eczema)

Featured Replies

8-year-old girl has a skin problems (rashes and itching): most commonly affected regions are the inner sides of elbows and knees, and also, the areas around her neck and buttocks. Her (farang) skin is somewhat dry, easily irritated and elicits an urge to scratch affected areas.

We stopped using soaps and showered only in cold water following the doctor's advise. From time to time, we use Eucerin red-cover lotion, and also, Physiogel lotion and Elomet cream. They helped for some time as long as we use them.

The other doctor suggested to stop drinking cow milk (and its products), and to drink a goat milk instead. But after a few weeks with goat's milk we do not see any changes/improvements.

We went to see yet another doctor, who prescribed Cetrizin (1 tablet before sleep) and suggested to use Eucerin lotion (smoothing w/blue top cover) few times daily after shower, and also some (no name) cream (Urea 10%) on the sticker.

Thanks, I'll try to find this betnovate-n cream.

Is it included steroids?

We were using the Elomet cream that was precribed by one doctor. And it helped a lot. But the other doctor told us to stop using it because of steroids.

just checked the precautions and warnings[ extension of infection may occur due to the masking effect of the steroid] the wife uses it for itching and she finds it very good.
