Lucifers Again

The Thai government is so sick. Devoting all that manpower and money to harass partyers, people not hurting anyone. This kind of devotion could solve some of the rapes and murders, and it would.

I wish I could make them sit in a room. In one corner, they see a guy take an ecstacy pill, drink a few, dance and have a good time. In the other corner, they have to watch a guy rape a girl, and slit her throat.

Maybe then they would get there priorities in order. What a sickness.

Yup - same owners as Lucifers, Radio City, and Twilo i Patpong, as well as dozens of other clubs around town. They've been planing to put in another one in Pattaya - I've some friends supposed to be on that gig, but there seems to be some hold up - the construction of the place is going slowly. Thay've already brought musicians over from the States for the job, too ...

They've got a good formula for club.

I am wondering when is all of this going to end. I think they haven't realized yet that more than 70% of the tourists are here for ladies and entertainment. I wouldn't be very happy coming for vacations...let's say...1 week and have stop all the fun and joy for a bunch of police monkeys ending all of it...i mean really...after you are being drug tested and searched by a police officer...you don't really have the mood to go on and party more. Lucifer...what about Jenny Star Bar, what about PJ's Bar and what about all the indian corner near the walking street??? They don't have too much police coming over...and that makes me happy, can have a dance without having a monkey pissing me off.

Targets of wrathe seem to be gogo(s) or disco(s) - guess thats where the most problems w/drugs seem to be.

Yeah, I agree Brit but the hits on Lucifer's suggests there is alot more behind it, than that :o

MrBojangles - no doubt about it. It seems they pissed someone off high up - used to be Tony's now its Lucifers. I normally go there a few times w/my gf - luckily I missed one of the said raids. :D

Perhaps the police like raiding it as they have no risk of anybody getting out of the emergency exits - its very easy to contain somewhere when you only have one entrance and NO emergency exits. I really am concerned at the eventual risk of a disaster happening in that place however nobody else seems to be at all concerned that 1000 revellers cannot get out of a burning building with a 1m wide walkway before probably 30-60% of them suffocate. Personally I will never go in for that simple reason, unless of course Bambi needs escorting :o

It's strangethat Boom bar, where I'm told is an easy place to score ,never gets raided. :D

I did hear another rumor that it was owned by the boys in brown ,surely not :D

Its true, (and the big guy with the tatttoo's I introduced you to at the Jesters fair I think) amongst others :o

I still don't get it, they have men to bring in at 2 am, why don't they put more civilians inside and let the people enjoy their vacations? Pattaya is a touristic sight, 90% of the people you see on street are farangs and 80% of the farangs are tourists, Pattaya should be a disco 24hours a day

Now its hard for us to enjoy a fun night without fearing police raids, piss tests, ordered to piss in the cup in front of others in the dance hall, being held up in clubs for hours, losing passports, get hasseled in the night spots or even on the streets for no ID and taken to police station

I can empathize with your remarks... as well as monty's experiences (sheesh, can't think of a bigger hassle then what you described for a lost passport.. :D)

Perhaps the police have also realized what a time-consuming, disruptive, and embarrassing time the urine drug tests are and that's why they've spent

24 MILLION BAHT (to catch 5 girls :o ) to update their drug detection methods to speed things along:

[Pattaya People]To reinforce Police actions on the war against drugs, they are now employing new high tech machines to detect drug usage. The new Bio Sensor machines from Sweden, costing 4 Million Baht each, use a special sweat absorbing sensor that detects illegal substances immediately, which displays a digital computer graphic in seconds.

This new system outdates the urine test that could take a number of hours to obtain results. It also means that Police will now be able to test hundreds of people in one shift - like they did in Lucifer.

The new machines are housed in a specially fitted out bus, that is essentially a mobile Police Station, and it is expected that up to 6 of these buses will be employed throughout the Chon Buri area. Look out for one coming to a venue that you go to……. soon.

*edit*

Last year, I was in Chiang Rai's Where Else when it was raided for underagers. The cops came with news cameras. I decided to get in some mof the shots waving my California ID along with flashing gang signs. It was risky but I did it. Another time the police raided the Sperm Pub. I was on a motorcycle with my girlfriend yelling, "Thai rak Thai motherfu**ers". In California I was dismissed from a jury during the preceedings for admitting to starting a riot that was in the papers on a Christmas party that was overbooked. All true stories.

And I always keep my passport on me. I wanna be identified when I finally die from all this.

I would've been at the Lucifer raid last October but my BG of the night lost her ID. Friends called her during the raid.

UPDATE

Biosensor Secures USD200,000 Deal With Thai Police

First ‘artificial dog nose’ deal in South East Asia for Swedish manufacturer.

By Christer Nilsson

APAC Security, representing Swedish manufacturer Biosensor, has secured an order for five BIOSENS systems from Thai narcotics police. The order value is worth close to USD200,000 and the first for a Biosensor system in South East Asia.

“Together with our very competent teams in Thailand and Singapore, we carried out numerous tests in the various provinces in Thailand and those have proved productive,” Carl Lundberg, head of APAC Security in Australia said.

Carl Lundberg set up APAC Security in early 2006 after he left Biosensor where he was CEO, to market Biosensor’s products in Asia Pacific.

A week before the Thai deal was settled, Japanese customs authorities also placed a follow up order for additional BIOSENS systems.

Last year Thai narcotics police tried BIOSENS systems on several occasions and in the process snagged a 12,000 methamphetamine pill haul near Chiang Rai. At another operation at a night club in Pattaya, a number of heroin users were pinpointed instantly by the system.

Biosensor is a Swedish company located in Sundbyberg, a suburb of Stockholm, Sweden. The company has developed a unique vapour and trace technology based upon biotechnological sensoring. It can be likened to an artificial dog nose and the technology detects both explosives and narcotics simultaneously at a molecular level.

Never heard anything about a heroin bust at a Pattaya nightclub and not sure how this 8 million baht order comes into play with the earlier 24 million baht reported by Pattaya People earlier. It's a bit confusing, but perhaps this is an additional order?

Anyway... seems like the drug testing will continue and expand.
