I am 29 year old American Male and i am starting to experience a substantial amount of hair loss, and extremely itchy scalp. Just curious as to what the possible causes may be, and if i should see a doctor about this.

See a dermatologist; you may have a fungal infection and make sure the doc does scrapings for examination under UV and other lab tests. If it is fungal, may take months to clear so best to get a diagnosis and start treatment asap.

Thanks, that is kinda what i was worried about. This doesn't feel like natural hair loss with age. And both of my grandfathers still have the majority of their hair, so i felt natural causes were a long shot. Any recommendations on a good dermatologist?

If you are in BKK, it would be worth while to check out the dermatologists on the Bumrungrad hospital website; the dermatology dept of the hospital is in another building and separated from the general mayhem of the main facility. Dr. Nyom there is a good chap but deals mostly with surgical issues rather than infectious..
