HomePro at Chalong have a good range.

Thanks, i will be back in Phuket in a couple of weeks, do you know roughly what the price range is for them

I picked up a 50 inch Samsung 720p for 25k a few months back in Power Buy

The 42inch was only 18k

yepp, 25-27k baht for 50" Samsung or LG plasma. Much better picture than LCD, especially response time, but produces rather much heat

Power Buy in Home Depot or Home Pro or Central or Jungceylon

Just saw a whole new range of 3D plasma TVs in Home Pro at Chalong. 50" ones are really well priced.

Just saw them?

I didn't know Home pro Chalong opened at 7am.rolleyes.gif

Has anyone bought one of the LED TVs that came out recently

I have noticed there price has dropped recently.

We have a Plasma at present but it puts out a lot of heat and i am thinking

about buying a new TV for the Bedroom which does not have central heating

A plasma TV is as good as a central heating unit, i have a fan blowing on the back of ours to keep it cool :ermm:

LED TVs have great picture quality and produce a lot less heat. Prices are now reasonable. I would recommend.

He is saying that the tv acts as a heater, not that he wants it to.

I just recently bought a Samsung LED 3D, and love it so far. It has a small bezel and the picture is really good. I have only owned LCD's so can't compare to Plasma, but it doesn't seem to give off too much heat. Still a little warm to the touch.

Easy to check the heat as the display units run all day. I have noticed differences between brands for the LCD/LED units. Although LED is more expensive I am aiming to buy one of those, probably Samsung Smart TV although not 50" as I want it for the bedroom which is not too big.

OK it must be his ozzie accent...as he wrote it..'buying a new TV for the Bedroom which does not have central heating "' Confusing to some..

I have 42 inch and does give off some heat for sure, but not so much that it effects the whole room to any degree.

He meant 'bedroom which does not have central a/c', but won't admit he made a mistake.

That means this post does not make any sense, so you're right, that is probably what you meant:

99% of Aussies would understand what i meant and a lot of other people

I meant for the few who did not understand i would like a TV what doesn't produce

as much heat as a plasma for the bedroom if i can purchase one with a picture as good as a

plasma but does not produce a lot of heat at a reasonable price.

When did i ever mention central air conditioning, i think you are confused :)

plasma is unbeatable on response time, and hard to beat on picture quality and price. but does act as centralheating :)

Just a warning, 3D TV will not work with the DVD player you have now unless you are very lucky

We returned to the shop and told them the DVDs supplied would not work in our DVD player

You have to buy a new DVD that plays 3D which they do not have in stock yet

We ordered the cheapest one 7490 Baht
