One Way Ticket On One Year "B" Non-Immigrant Visa?

Will immigration be ok with a one way ticket into LOS from the UK with a One year "b" non-immigrant visa. My contact in LOS says this will be fine but would prefer some for advice before I go and buy a one way ticket.

Any visa will do.

Only need ticket out if travelling to Thailand on 30 day visa exempt stamp.

Immigrations don't check for western tourists.

Only airlines can and do frequently deny boarding without a visa or ticket out within 30 days.

Thanks PS, so i will be ok to purchase the flight but when i go to depart i must make sure i have my visa or the airline may refuse me to board the plane. Is that right? Many thanks
