Motorcycle Taxi From Jomtien To Nong Nooch

I want to go to nong nooch from Pattaya. Local travel places quote 750 baht for 1/2 day tour. I went on that once before and the time is too short. They minvan you over to jomtien, collect everybody on a bus, then go to Nong Nooch. Same in reverse. Not enough time to see and wander around the whole park. I asked if I can stay all day and come back later. The girl said 900 baht! I said why more? She just smiled and said something about Park charges them more.

Since Nong Nooch website says full day ticket admission is 400 baht, it seems like I could make it over to Jomtien, then catch a motorcycle taxi from Jomtien to Nong Nooch and back later in the day. Gives me the time I want to stay as long as I want. On the map Nong Nooch doesn't seem that far away from the Jomtien strip. Even if I pay 100 baht each way for a motorcyle taxi I would be better off and be able to take the time I want at the park.

Any thoughts?

Thanks

Rent your own motorbike? Only 150 baht. Don't know if there are any mo'sai waiting at Nong Nooch. Not sure how far the white Songthaews travel down Sukhumvit, but then you have a long walk from the main road to the entrance and back.

Yeah. After 11 trips I am still a bit put off of driving the bikes around here. They drive on the wrong side of the road, or both sides or in between! I drove a little bit in Jamaica and it scared the crap out of me. No problem on the straight lanes, but that first corner and it was pretty easy for me to get on the wrong side of the road in a hurry! Just two more days on this holiday so trying to keep things simple. Don't want any accidents or insurance issues on the night before I leave.

Thanks

Any of the white baht buses heading south on Sukhumvit Road will go past Nong Nooch. Fare 20 baht

At the end of the Nong Nooch service road (under the enormous Nong Nooch sign with the big lobster) there's always a couple of tuk-tuks hanging around in the shade under the sign.

Don't know what they charge for the 2-3 Km ride to Nong Nooch.

I've always gone there by car, so I don't know where the tuk-tuks wait for the return journey to Sukhumvit Road.

I have been driving a motorcycle since my third visit, and I think it is not as dangerous as many probably believe.

I was apprehensive too, but now I am glad I did it, because the incredible flexibility the bike gives you lets you discover Pattaya and surroundigs in a completely different way - total freedom.

On the road, Thais drive in general in a very soft and respectful way.

I adopted most of their driving quirks, as long as they are not dangerous.

If you drive on Thai roads, you have to to be vigilant at all times and not drive on "autopilot".

Ah, the bus. I had thought of that, but did not look into it. Thanks. I like to take mass transit when I visit a place and am traveling. I don't mind looking around and out the window.

Thanks, I will remember that for next time.
