NAKHORN SRI THAMMARAT TO BE AWARE OF FLOOD DANGER

NAKHORN SRI THAMMARAT (นครศรีธรรมราช) Governor VICHOM TONGSONG (วิชม ทองสงค์) said that NAKHORN SRI THAMMARAT(นครศรีธรรมราช) will be experiencing monsoon all year round, leading to large numbers of rainfall. The amount of rain per year is 2,500 mm. However this year the province has calculated the amount of rain of 1,073 mm; therefore flash floods are likely to occur if it rains about 350 mm per month during the remaining three months. However if it rains 500-600 mm at per time, it will be likely the province will be hit by flood.

The governor also said that he has assigned the district center to be prepared for flood relief controls should any disaster happen.

Mr Vichom has assigned government officials to examine whether there are enough dried food in stock as well as survival kits for residents in times of trouble.
