Thai Passport

1. Where can a Thai citizen go to apply for a Thai passport? I've been told the closest place to Ubon Ratchathani is Khon Kaen.

2. Can someone give a very specific location?

3. Is it same day service?

Believe same day service is availeble, but otherwise they will send it by EMS within a couple of days for 35 baht.

Ubon's Passport office is about 200m west of Tung Sri Muang park behind the old provincial building. Here's a map. They did not have same day service but said it should be in the mail in 3 days, 7 days at the latest.

Is that first office located in Bankok?

Bangna is in Bangkok.

But the main office is located on Chiang Watanna just after Soi 7 and is not on that list of branch offices.

The Thai passport office in Phitsanulok is in Taeparuk Rd which is just north of the main #12 road, right by the big river. Have a look on Google Maps satellite- big building with blue roof. Heaps of parking in back.

Thai passport renewal costs 1000Bt plus 40Bt for return postage- takes a week they say.

The Thai passport office is in the local authority building on the road that runs off Chayangkun Road at Tung Sri Muang, just before Ubon Plaza, across to the Catholic cemetery. PV Tower (PInk place) is opposite the buidling. The fence in front of the building has flash stainless steel railings.

Passport office is on the ground floor. People are very nice and helpful there. Photos are taken, pay a fee of about 1050 baht and the new passport (along with the old passport if you are renewing) will be sent to your house address by EMS within 7 days. Excellent service. If it is a first time passport, bring house registration and ID card.
