I dont click on links, also why dont you give me your opinion and not yhe opinion of someone else

I don't have an opinion on the matter. I merely linked to a report quoting Thaksin as saying his sister is his clone.

Here you go:

Thaksin sister a 'clone'

Wednesday, June 01, 2011

Fugitive Thai ex-prime minister Thaksin Shinawatra has denied he wants to be leader again, but admitted his youngest sister Yingluck, who is a challenger for the post, is his "clone" - in terms of having "the same culture, the same background, the same ideas, the same attitude, and the same thinking."

Does she think she is his clone?

Surely, not clicking on links is equivalent to clasping your hands over your ears and shouting 'I can't hear you, I can't hear you'

Not when I am on a work computer and have no idea what the link is going to take me to, now if the person gives an example of what it is linking to then i will happily click it., surely this is sensible behviour and is not akin to putting my hands over my ears, as well you know, now do you have anything sensible to bring to the table?

It says nothing about how many people were asked, and where they are from and no margine of error. It is a self serving poll with no apparent validity, just an excuse for a headline.

I guess that applies to people who deperately attempt to ridicule polls that are sending a clear message they don't like....:)

Personally I don't think a poll is supposed to send a message, unless the poll is rigged to show a result which confirms a message / result one was looking for. Most poll descriptions given here do not seem statistically sound which would throw doubt on their outcome. As such it has nothing to do with 'a clear message' one may or may not like.

Personally I agree with dear member bungalownights that Ms. Yingluck doesn't look bad for a 43 year old woman with billions in the bank :)

If the polls were showing the dems ahead would you be telling us all that the polls are accurate and to be trusted?

I gave you my opinion and you ask what it is based on. Well, reading a few articles, listening to PTP MP's, my inspiration Robert A. and some more fools.

Now of course it's my turn. Why do you 'think' we'll get a female PM in Thailand, and why would you guess people would even vote for a soi dog if given the chance?

It is not about getting a female PM, it is about whoever is leading the PTP will be PM< in this case it happens to be a female,

As for the second comment, it is clearly tongue in cheek as well you know you little scamp you

Do you think Chalerm or Chavalit would have much of a chance of winning an election as the leader of PTP? I think they would turn quite a few voters off.

Those red ppl had ruined many and many of the Thai business. Those red ppl had paralized Thai capital with the roads blockage etc. Those red ppl had burned Thai buildings. Those red ppl had killed Thai soldiers. Those red ppl led by the Main Criminal (wanted) and some minor Criminals (with the bails have been cancelled). Those red ppl landed some grenades to the innocent Thais at the BTS stations. etcetcetc... Then let them win and come to juristic power for more!!! PS: this country never stops amazing me. IF those win - whatever happend to this country, I'll tell "Somnaina!". The idiocity must be punished and then understood sooner or later...

You said "I hope they are ready because it is what they are about to get." in a topic on 'most people ready for female PM'. Now you tell me it's not about getting a female PM.

Could you please make up your mind before posting, it's embarrasing to see a member contradict himself even a big scamp like you ;)

A lump of putty about this size would have a chance of winning the election as long as it had "Thaksin" as its surname.

There's a sizable segment of the population that (IMO) has been imprinted with Thaksin's image, like little ducklings that assume that whatever happens to be around when they hatch is their mother. In the same way this sizable population block first saw Thaksing presenting himself as their voice and the path to democracy (rather than his opportunity for installing cleptocracy) and to this day, and thanks to a continuous and good financed PR machine they hold on to that belief.

As for Yingluk as PM, that's really a one question IQ test; you'd really have to be retarded to think that of all people she's the most qualified candidate.

Gender notwithstanding, what can we see in most world leaders, and specifically those on offer in Thailand?

It seems to me we have a new type of leaders, people with a particularly frightening mental illness. People with this illness were termed psychopaths. (The term nowadays is anti-social personality disorder.) These are terms for people who are smart, personable, and engaging, but who have no consciences. They are not guided by a sense of right or wrong. They seem to be unaffected by the feelings of others, including feelings of distress caused by their actions. Straying from a decent way of treating people, or violating ethical codes causes no anxiety, the anxiety which is what causes the rest ofus to moderate our more greedy impulses. If most children feel anxiety when they are pilfering the forbidden cookie jar, psychopaths feel just fine. They can devour the cookies, shatter the jar as evidence and stuff it in the trash can. When accused, they can argue with apparent sincerity that the cookie jar has been missing for at least a week. There suffer no remorse, no guilt, no shame. They are free to do anything, no matter how harmful.

Psychopaths can be very tricky to recognize. As psychiatrist Dr. Hervey Cleckly wrote in his classic The Mask of Sanity in 1941, psychopaths are not technically insane. They don't have a psychosis, like schizophrenia. They are experts in appearing normal. They can act the role of a caring, concerned executive, even though they actually do not seem to experience such feelings. If they hurt somebody, they don't modify their behaviour.

In any country in which much of human culture has been rendered into machines for the manufacture of money, psychopaths are the ideal leaders. They are very focused. They are outcome oriented. They are frequently charming, and usually very bright and able. They can be impressively confident. Psychopaths can be dynamic leaders of enterprises, but are handicapped by their lack of feelings for relationships. They may be accomplished captains of industry, or parliamentarians or surgeons, but their families are frequently abused and miserable. Most psychotherapists have seen as patients the wives or husbands or children of such accomplished people.

Since psychopaths are usually very smart, they can be quite competent at impersonating regular human beings in positions of power. Since they don't care how their actions affect people, they can rise to great height in enterprises dealing with power and money. They can manufacture bombs or run hospitals.Whatever the undertaking, it is all the same to them. It's just business.

Thaksin obviously fits this description, does Yingluck? Does Abhisit, Newin, Sondhi, Sonthi and anyone else you can name, I believe so.

Pseudopsychological statement. Read ICD-10 Chapter V about personality disorders before you continue to post nonsense.

First class post: summed up politicians precisely, maybe exceptions Gandhi and Mandela. The rest are all ego, and deserve nobodies vote, brilliant post

The only nonsense is in your reply

The International Statistical Classification of Diseases and Related Health Problems 10th Revision (ICD-10) is a coding of diseases, signs and symptoms, abnormal findings, complaints, social circumstances and external causes of injury or diseases, as classified by the World Health Organization (WHO)

Now of course we all know how perfect the WHO is

Try reading this:

or this:

Perhaps you should try this simple self test:

Now reply with some more of YOUR nonsense :jap:

If we look at past national leaders, in the UK, Israel, Germany, they were as capable as any man.

In most families, the husband may be the legal head but it is usually the wife that runs things domestically. Most women by necessity are generalists, men tend to be specialists in particular fields. A man may be a banker or economist, but the wife runs the family budget. A man may be a clothing manufacturer but his wife, not him, knows the price of his children's clothes.

In a home the man buys the car, the TV, the VCR, DVD player etc, but the woman selects the fridge, washing machine, microwave oven. The man buys the house, the woman makes it a home.

A woman PM with good specialist advisers would probably be better, more understanding and more compassionate than the current bunch of self seeking individuals of all political persuasions.

But the woman is one of the self-seeking individuals - have you forgotten the amnesty for her brother, or her own potential criminal charges?

If Thailand were really interested in a great woman PM they would have to look no further that K. Tarisa who headed the Bank Of Thailand. An extremely well respected and capable woman.

I hope they are ready because it is what they are about to get.

On another note, I guess most people would also take a soi dog as PM over abhisit having sen how he fared.

Personally I doubt that, although lots of people seem interesting in a female Thaksin clone who looks nice.

What do you base her being a Thaksin clone on? because they are related or on something else, or are you just going along with the opinion of the forum bullies as they think the same without ever really backing this up.

http://www.thestanda...5391&con_type=1

Oh so khun Thaksin says she is a clone - well I guess he should know his own clone. Probably more informed opinion than some forum bully who claims she's not, without ever really backing this up. :D

It seems lannarebirth understood that point.

As there is only one running........ But if you want to talk general concepts, out of the 60 odd female leaders there have been some successes, though which ones are open to opinion, and there have been some dismal failures as well. Either way, once they become a country's leader, I doubt if they manage to live up to your stale stereotypes. Few world leaders can tell you the price of a litre of milk or a loaf of bread, men or women.

My profound apologies, I did not realise that you were an expert on stale stereotypes. No doubt out of the hundreds of male leaders there have been no failures? What is the percentage of bad female leaders amongst females to bad male leaders amongst males? Then again how do you judge good and bad, I suspect that for you a good leader is who who endorses your view of the world.

I wouldn't claim expertise, but I know one when I see it. As for the percentages, they seem at a rough glance about the same, seemingly making gender irrelevant. Bad female leaders I would judge the same as a man. Macapagal-Arroyo was undoubtedly corrupt, Julia Gillard appears to be struggling, and Margaret Thatcher started a war to guarantee her next election besides her other faults, the females Peron and Bhutto were hardly shining lights.

I doubt any world leaders share my view of the world. IMHO most are egotists with the morals of a used car salesman.

Not at all.

I am ready for a female PM.

I would never want to see Yingluck as PM, no-matter if she is a man, woman, ladyboy or dog.

Apart from you comment about Maggie Thatcher, who did not start a war but simply responded to aggression, I would agree with your comment, when it comes to good or bad leaders their sex seems irrelevant., Likewise your summation of politicians is in line with mine (see my post on psychopaths).

Oh dear, I am really amazed that someone can be so stupid, I know the content of this site, I know it is moderated, and I know I am unlikely to open a page showing child porn for example, an external link however could contain anything, even something unsavory. Is this really so hard to understand?

I have not looked into this, and not being a voter myself can not give you an opinion on how I would vote, but if pushed i would say it would not matter and ptp will still get the votes, not only based on their policies but also based on the failure of the dems to do anything worthwhile during their undeserved tenure.
