I know a small bar in Sukhumvit 55 soi 13 called woodstock

I once went there, decent bar but few guests

Does it still exist?? we could hit the groove there??

Any other suggestions

And let's stick to 'soul' first and when we all have fun

we could do a 'UK-sixties' thing or whatever later??

Bring the WAG's??

Friday or Saturday??

One of us could visit the bar and discuss a nice deal??

(no I am not Scottish) :D

The Woodstock bar does still exist. I used to live on Thonglor and used it from time to time.

My dad was a session tenor sax in London during the 60's. He goes all misty eyed and just won't shut up about it if I bring it up so I reckon he'd be well up for a beer in Bangkok with any like-minded souls (as would I). biggrin.gifcool.gif

My offering to the thread . . .

1000 hits and only 3 rsvp's !!!!!!!!!!!

There is a lot of living between the music you danced to as a teenager in the 60's and being

a retired expat in Bangkok. As the decades pass music becomes less important in the day to day struggles.

I personally pretty much gave up on music 25 years ago,it just became a background soundtrack. It was not

until recently just out of curiosity i decided to see how much of my vinyl collection i could find on youtube,

My musical tastes over the years range through Blues, British R&B, Soul, Funk,West Coast[uSA] Reggae, Punk New Wave, even early House music

and for the last 20 years Jazz, but without the passion of my earlier years .

I realised that listening to the old soul music was changing my mood for the better in a way that the other genres were not quite matching.Listen to the music

All I can say is WOW, you had me doing my bop from here to to the kitchen and back.

Endure, thanks for the toons.

And if you lot meet up - have fun.

Loved the music. Soul music will live on in everybodies minds.
