New York Allows Same-Sex Marriage

ALBANY — Lawmakers voted late Friday to legalize same-sex marriage, making New York the largest state where gay and lesbian couples will be able to wed and giving the national gay-rights movement new momentum from the state where it was born.

Even though I'm not a fan of marriages, equal right to mess up one's life with them is worth fighting for...

There's also a recent tidbit about Rhode Island passing legislation for civil unions.

Another nice thing about this is that the states with gay marriage- who don't restrict non-residents from the ceremony- are also going to land a nice windfall economically UNTIL the other states cave in.... heh heh heh....
