I am potentially buying a car from a private party in Bangkok. What do I need to do as far as transferring the green book etc? I have already checked out the car mechanically and it is sound. Any other things I should be aware of?

Did you check that the chassis and engine number match?

as I remember you need from old owner: copy of his ID card and the copy has to be signed, green book and maybe helpfull a contract of sale

you need: confirmation of your address issued by immigration office, if house rent maybe copy of contract and also ID copy of house owner, show your visa, (I am not sure) 90 tourist shall be good, 1 year is the best. More I not remember because my ex thai gf did spent after the time in office for lan and transport, I have only shown the car to copy motor- and chassis number

^book has to be signed by the seller also.
