Thai Association Of The Blind To Have Rally

1ST EVER BLIND RALLY ON UNDERGROUND ELECTRIC TRAINS WILL TAKE PLACE ON OCTOBER 22

The Mass Rapid Transit Authority and the Bangkok Metro Public Company Limited will cohost with the Thailand Association of the Blind in arranging the world's first rally on underground electric trains.

MRTA Deputy Governor RANACHIT YAMSA_ARD (รณชิต แย้มสอาด) announced that activities for the blind have been held on the occasion of the world White Cane Day, which falls on October 15th of every year. This year activities were held with emphasis on the importance of cane usage by the blind, by demonstrating cane usage skills as well as developing for safer usage in travels.

In addition, a white cane rally will be held on October 22nd, in order to allow participating blind people the opportunity of traveling via the subway. Normal-sighted people who wish to participate in the rally will be blindfolded. The rally will cover both terrian and sub-terrain routes.
