New Delhi-bound passenger train derails in northern India, 100 injured

FATEHPUR, INDIA (BNO NEWS) -- At least 100 people were injured on Sunday afternoon when a passenger train bound for the Indian capital of New Delhi derailed in Uttar Pradesh state, local media reported.

The accident happened near Malwa railway station in Fatehpur district of Uttar Pradesh, a state in northern India. The Kalka Express train was coming from Howrah and had its final destination in New Delhi.

CNN-IBN reported that at least 100 people were injured when as many as 13 carriages derailed. Some were said to have collapsed, media reports said. Other details were not immediately available.
