Hello All,

I am asking on behalf of a friend who would like to go to Vientiane to fetch himself a Non Immigrant O or B visa. He is an active committee member of a bona fide Thai foundation and he has all the papers to prove it, he just doesn't have enough days left to get the visa in-country so I am appealing to TV for help and advice.

• Train or bus?
• How long does it take?
• What procedures (transportation and otherwise) are there from the Thai border through to Vientiane?
• How long will the Embassy take to issue it?
• Where can he stay in Vientiane (frugally)?

All tips, hints and practical advice most gratefully received. I hope that this thread will prove to be useful for others too.
