Dect (1.9Ghz) Cordless Phones In Thailand

Featured Replies

I've never seen a DECT (1.9GHz) cordless phone for sale in Thailand... and I'm just curious why? Is the 1.9GHz frequency used for something else in Thailand? It seems all you can buy are the dated, single handset 2.4GHz cordless phones which compete for spectrum with your WiFi and microwave oven.

I circumvented this by having my parents bring along a Panasonic DECT system with 4 handsets on their last visit... and it all works great... but I hope I'm not violating any laws by using them. ;)

Is anyone else using DECT cordless in Thailand?

I think that is because it is military frequency. I have the 2.4 ghz version. (AT&T USA) using a transformer. (been in a box for the past 5 years).
