Hi All,

Anyone seen a countertop deep fat fryer in any shop on their travels? These are pretty much available in most countries but haven't seen them here in Phuket yet. The ones I talk about look similar to a rice cooker.

Missing my homemade chips. B)

Cheers,

M.

Looked for countertop deep fat fryers a few years ago, only place I found was in basement of Central store, in the kitchenware section.

Tried in there. Didn't have any when i was in, will try again if Makro doesn't have,

Tnx, M

DeLonghi, white round with smog filtration, at Central, cant recall the price, used it every week for 4 years

Mamuman or something similar, stainless squared, no smog filtration, only 1800 baht at Makro

I got one in Carrefore

Yes indeed, I saw them upstairs at the former Carrefour in Jungceylon a couple months ago.

BTW, I was told when looking at them, no, you are too fat and do should not be eating fried food. So here's a tip if you are plump, pleasingly so or not, , do not take a lady that has seen you naked when visiting the housewares department.)

Seven Five kitchen supply a wide range of professional equipment, only to registered busines however. No idea of price but they are wholesale to the trade. I just bought a set of kitchen knifes for half the price of Central prices and better quality.

I was in Makro a couple of days ago and saw the rectangular one (asked the girl and they said it was the only one they sell in there). Price was 3900 baht. Seems a bit pricy for the size of it. I'm off to check Carrefour (Big C) to see what they have. B)

Can't you just put oil in a wok on medium heat and fry?

I was wondering the same thing.:)

Thats what we do right now but not too clever having a hot wok full of oil with kiddies in the house. Use a lot of oil this way too and temp difficult to get right.
