Hi guys! I've heard that there is some kind of ecological gasoline in Thailand for motorbikes, marked green at gas stations. I think I haven't seen such a thing at Koh Phangan. Is there a gas station with such a fuel at the island, and is it really good to use?

yes there is , and is green 91 @ 36 THB a litre ( all new cars that run on petrol should use it ) , also its the cheapest

but here on samui, only the new petorl stations that have opened in the last 6 months ( or renovated ) sell it, so i doubt they have it in KPG

Just a bit more info - some of the older places now sell the 91 gasohol as well as the 95 gasohol. You just have to look.

eg Caltex by the traffic lights to Lam Din sells the 91 gasohol.

There are no signs - just hand written pieces of paper on the pump.

(And it works fine on my 9 year old Yamaha Neuvo bike - so far :(.)

nver use caltex, as they are nearly 35% more expensive the PTT... plus they only have the old 91, not the new 91

Must have sold out already. Twice last week I filled up with the new 91 gasohol at the Caltex by the traffic lights on the ring road - junction to the market.

Second or third rack of pumps, far side to the road - 3rd from the right. B)

Sorry that this does not help the op on KPN other than to look carefully.

Big Caltex on the ring road Chaweng, mirror prices to PTT.

Have you checked out the newer PPT gas station going up the middle road (from Tesco) on KP? Perhaps 3 kms or so up.

There are three PTT stations within a very short distance of each other, it would be the one on right heading north.

Perhaps too, the one in Chaloklum heading on the other road back toward Tongsala... I think it is PTT too??? Seems to me a newer renovated station as well... might be worth checking...

From my tests of using gasohol you get about 10% more mileage. :)

There is little or nothing "green" about gasohol.

Growing sugar cane for the purpose of ethanol production and consumption is as "green" as burning the crop in the fields.
