Question About As Levels

Featured Replies

Please forgive me if this is the wrong section of the forum on which to post, but since presumably this topic is read by education professionals, maybe someone can help me.

I have a couple of questions regarding AS levels, of which I know absolutely nothing.

- If a pupil receives poor grades, (such as DDDC) will this mean that he cannot proceed to take the A level exams a year later?

- Or does he have to re-sit them? A whole year's study repeated?

- Will these results go towards his final A level grade? (thereby presumably meaning that even were he to get an A in the A level itself, the average grade would be pulled down to a B or C)?

What would you advise a parent to do in this instance in the student's best interests?

Thanks in advance for any assistance!

I presume you are talking about the British Education system. If so, perhaps we have some teachers who might be able to answer your questions.

You could try contacting Satit Prasarnmit International Programme at Srinakharinwirot University.

They run a full British national curriculum based programme there and sure they will be happy to fill you in.
