I hold a 1 year retirement visa and have a re entry permit stamp now in my passport which I will use very soon. This is my first time out of Thailand since living here on retirement renewals and I would like to know:

1. What stamps if any will the Thai immigration put in my passport on exit and re entry,

2. Will I need a new TM paper/card and what about the current one stapled in my passport?;

3 anything else I should be aware of?

Many thanks in advance!

The put the stamp in your passport for leaving Thailand, upon the return they stamp the Re-entry permit with "USED" if a single entry, then stamp your entry, you should check that the entry stamp has the same expiry date as your original extension/Visa. Also remember on the Arrival card, that the airline will give to you when returning to Bangkok, write the number of the Re-entry permit in the area labeled "Visa Number".

When you leave Thailand the current TM6 (the departure card) is retained by the Immigration officer.

Per above. When leaving you give your current TM-card and you will get a new one when you return. Always check your passport to see if they stamped you in correctly, as mistakes do happen.

Don't forget that leaving the country resets your 90 day reporting. You will now have to report 90 days after you re-enter Thailand.
