Thailand Nightlife

I have been to Thailand many times and love the nightlife of Bangkok very much, but every time i visit Bangkok i get a rocking holidays in Bangkok, there are many spots I have not been to yet.

Khaosan Rd is a decent place but too touristy. But at times I dont mind it, polus there are good bars in near by Khaosan rd.

Silom has some really good place, Patpong is abit too much for me.

Anyoneknow any hidden gems around?

You havnt mentioned the obvious, Soi Nana, Sukumvit rd, soi Cowby etc

Well, if "Patpong is abit too much" for him, I don't know how he will stomach Nana and Soi Cowboy.

Priyam, what are you looking for exactly and how well do you speak Thai?

That's what I was going to recommend. Thonglor/Ekkamai is the place to be. Soooooo many great restaurants and clubs.

OP: have you thought about places other than Bangkok? Not sure what you are looking for, but some of the islands can be fun also...

It really depends on each person. Too difficult to answer without knowing what a person is looking for. Personally I wouldn't bother with the local places in Thonglor or the many others scattered around such as in Ratchada or close to JJ market. They're a bit of a novelty at first because of the shear energy but really far too crowded, loud, too much whiskey and probably unsafe (although there's no cigarette smoke these days).

For clubbing I like Thong Lor and Ekkamai and in particular Demo @Thong Lor. Fallabella @Ratchadamri is also a nice bar/club, with a more relaxed atmosphere than Demo.For the more chilled places, I would go for Hyde & Seek @Ruam Rudee, Bloc @City Viva Naratiwas, Hu'u Bar @Ascott Sathorn or Buri Tara @Rama III (its down by the river).

But there are many other places which are nice!

Sounds like fun!!! We lived in Bangkok off and on for several years. Miss it terribly...well...not the air. But it's a fantastic city. Wish I had more money so I could afford a small apartment there.

Yes......Thonglor and Ekkamai have many trendy/hip lounge bars, but I personally find them to be full of Thai Hi-So posers.

As for RCA.....think Club MTV minus 10k. Annoying. Bangkok is NOT the city for genuine nightlife like you'd find

in NYC, Berlin, Paris, Barcelona, San Paulo......etc.

I guess that is what most clubs are; full of posers, those who want to see or want to be seen......not the kind of energy you'd get on the dance floor from places I've mentioned above. But like the other person stated.....to each his own.
