I can't help with the teaching position but it would be interesting to know what kind of alternative school there is in Hua Hin? Something like Sudbury, Montessori, Democratic or other type of alternative school?

There are 2 alternative schools in Hua Hin, 1 is from age 6 to 12 the other is age 12 upwards to IGCSE level. They are both very student led which we have discovered makes a world of difference.

If you still have a position open in May or June I will apply for sure. I will have an Education degree by that time.

I have a BS in Mechanical Engineering and a MS in Math. I am currently a contract engineer in the USA. I have been looking into teaching in Thailand and almost went to do that two years ago, but this current contract pooped up and it was too good to pass up. 35,000 baht seems a little low for Hua Hin. Does that include a housing allowance or stipend?

The OP is over 6 weeks old and is likely to have been filled by now.

Your best chance to secure a teaching contract here (based on non-ed degrees) is to actually be in Thailand.
