Attacks On Tourists Ao Nang

Featured Replies

  • Over the last month.Iv'e heard of many muggings involving tourists.Last night a friend of mine, a local farang was followed by 3 men, on two bikes. Then rammed off the road into a ditch. He was then threatened by a kid of around 16 ,sounds harmless ?In this case the lad had a 2 foot machete.my friend of course handed over his wallet . This happened past the junction across from Ao Nang school (the street lights have been dark all week). Please please keep your eyes open, stay alert and be careful!

Again last night,1 local Thai guy got robbed at knife point same location.same trick pushed into the ditch. My house is only 40 meters from this.

Any body know what the law is about blank firing guns ? I'm not letting this scum intimadate me.I've already strapped a large baseball bat to my bike.Ao nang joins the wild westannoyed.gif

This area, in particular the shortcut road (Na Thai Rd) has always been a black spot for violence and theft, (in the 10 yrs + I've been here anyway), including many burglaries, kids murdering other Thai kids plus kids grabbing gold chains from female bike riders etc.!

Although I'm told it eased up for a while the problem has obviously raised it's ugly head again. Thx for the heads up on this..best to avoid this area altogether if possible.
