transam
Don't think l have a worse ride cos always did my homework so l wouldn't be disappointed. Can now look back at some that were a bit antiquated but at the time were OK rides. Best, don't know about best but had a strong affection for my 2.8 V6 Auto Volvo 760 GLE Estate, did everything i wanted and was comfortable with superb handling for a tank. guzzi850m2
The answer is very easy for me, I only owned 2 cars in my whole life . I owned a Lada 1500 in Denmark and now I own a Honda City ZX here. The Lada was a real tractor and a shitty ride, but rock solid. The valves in the cyl. head was made for running on low octane Russian petrol. The City compared to the Lada, is very comfortable, quiet, fast

Atmos
not a car person, bikes always been the vehicle for me, but did relent to gf pressure early 90s and bought a car, a one owner Rover SDI (yellow!) old guy couldn't renew his licence for health reasons, low miles and good bodywork. Been garaged all its life, probably only driven on sunny days Until I bought it - parked on the street, no garage. It leaked, really leaked. Nothing like the stink of soaked carpets to start my day. And a non-starting car. It had ongoing electrical problems, a high-tech (for the time) alarm system linked to the interior lights circuit that activated when a door was opened, problem was these bulbs blew on a daily/weekly basis, had the alarm removed after it took on a life of its own, sometimes would start while driving through town. First time I had passengers they put the rear windows down (electric) and they wouldn't go up again. Then there was the mystery electrical fault that simply cut out the engine at random times. The odd times it was all functioning I quite enjoyed the drive, decent pick-up from the 3500 V8 I thought (had only had a Cortina 1600 in years before that). At about 3-4 months I'd had enough, sold it for about half what I paid for it. Guy I sold it to loaned it to his son who wrote it off in an accident (maybe on purpose) within a few weeks. Probably the best thing for it. Stick to bikes, and gfs with their own car. not mine, but something like this Can't blame the cars, but my Dad had a bad run of 'bad cars' 1986-88. Toyota Corona - my mother totalled that one, missed a road works sign and hit a truck. He bought a nice 2.0 litre Cortina Ghia off my uncle, I borrowed it for a weekend trip, lost control when rear tyre had a blowout, down a bank, hit a tree. Insurance paid out. He bought another Cortina, a wagon this time. In NZ cars have a Warrant of Fitness safety check every 6mths - he dropped it at the local garage said he'd pick it up after work. Mechanic did a road test for brakes, got hit from behind by a huge bin truck, loaded on the way to the dump - it rode up over the back end of the car, squashed, but mechanic survived with neck injuries. Dad wasn't a 'car person' either. He preferred to walk. Edited September 13, 2011 by Atmos

Wallaby
First car I bought was a Morris Major. Apparently I had thought that because it was the Major it would be better than the Minor. Wrong. Best car, very difficult, I've always bought shockers. Currently driving a little Nissan Pulsar 2.0. Not too bad, a bit soft on power but had it for 2 years and I've never had to put anything in it other than an oil change and petrol. Very reliable. guzzi850m2
[ How did Denmark stand regarding import tax . ?. Did they not do a Thailand at one time , in favour of Home Made Products..?. DK are taxing something like 200% on cars & motorbikes (fuc_kers) so very possible the most expensive place on earth for wheels. The manufactures had (has?) the lowest prices on cars in DK, hell even the Germans goes to DK to buy a VW. We don't make cars in DK. Thats was the reason I bought this old used Lada car for roughly 2500 us$ in 1998. I had a sticker on the rear window saying: Laugh only, but its paid for. Funny enough, nobody was laughing when overtaking me
Atmos
and I have a best wasn't mine, last long-term partner had a Honda Civic 4-door, 1500 or maybe 1600. Blue. She'd bought it new. Did all I wanted from a car, started, stopped, 100% reliable, big enough for roof rack and two kayaks and bike rack/2 bikes on the back. Probably completely boring but 6yrs never a problem. I thought Honda servicing costs were high though, she insisted on taking it to the dealership.

thaicbr
best and worst car for me (fond memories) was a Skoda 105.. bought for 120 uk pounds then 4 months later a taxi went up the back of it.. guys insurance paid out 265 ukp and let me buy it back for 25..then 15quid for new rear lens, banged out the back panel.. back on the road (the engine bar subframe had took the force with no damage) looked bad though. Then that winter had heavy snow... great car in the snow is a SKoda that you don't care about ... sooooooooo much fun. ps. i also remember having to have a bag of sand in the front luggage area to weigh the front down a bit/ Edited September 13, 2011 by thaicbr
phutoie2
Worst: BMW 730i V8 at an outrageous 46K GBP, it did have the lovely light tan leather memory seats that I could never figure. Traded in for a Stuttgart taxi, much better!. Best 1995 Vauxhall Cavalier SRi 1.8L, bought off a mate for 300 beer chits and ran around in for a few months while I was making the plans to retire to the Republic of South Phetch. JimmyTheMook
Hyundai Excel - left it on the side of rt. 280 in Newark after it broke down for the last time , took off my license plates - ripped the vin # tags off the inside of the door and under the hood then walked into town and took the PATH train home. Best Car? Honda Civic 3 door hatchback , 5speed manual transmission - loved that car but it eventually got stolen and was found weeks later stripped down in Newark. tonytigerbkk
<a name="OLE_LINK1"> My best car would have to be a Jaguar X300 (1996 model) Driving around in it in Thailand gave me a buzz, as it never failed to turn heads. It was always my dream to own a Jag, so giving it first place is probably a touch biased. A close second would be either my first car which was a Triumph 2000 TC (with a superb overdrive on the gear knob) or my current car which is a 2007 Camry (boring but very reliable and never skips a beat). Worst car has to go to . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . The Jaguar, simply because of the amount of thing going wrong on it and the cost of repairs in Thailand. So I have the same car as both the best and worst cars that I have owned. Regards, Tiger.
PattayaParent
Worst car was a Hyundai Stellar I had in Riyadh back in 1991. The exhaust was held on by a rubber band which kept springing off when I went wadi bashing in it which meant it dragged along the road all the way home. It would go anywhere a 4 wheel drive could though.
ignis
Worst car Renault 6 go up a hill and the spark plugs would pop out, Renault 16's loved them owned 3 but always had problems, same with the 17, and Morris Marina 1.8 GT, bought new exchanged for a Triumph 2.5 P.I. 12 weeks later... Best car, difficult to say, have owned to many, but on the top Armstrong Siddeley, own 3, last being a 'Star' of 1960, Citroen DS have owned 4, [also own other Citroen models newer and older] best was the DS23 Pallas, Triumph 2500 TC and later a 2.5 P.I. number of Mk 2 Jags, great cars, Jensen Interceptor a wow car and a bank breaker at the petrol pumps, owned a very rare German Opel Monza 3.3, as my screen name suggests was a great little car for what I wanted at the time Suzuki Ignis, there again cannot fault my present Audi A6.. Own lots of others makes, but the above stand out and wish I still had some of them
Kwasaki
This is a tough one :- I would say best is a Volvo T5 estate but it was a company car. BEST owned - off the top of my head, MGB.GT 1.8 B-series engine, electronic press button overdrive on 3rd & 4th. WORST owned - Ford Escort Mk III comes to mind. Motorbikes have always been my priority.

eTiMaGo
only ever owned one car so far, so it's the best and worst As for cars driven, I don't have a whole lot under my belt yet, but I will always have an affinity for my parents' old Nissan AD Resort. Torquey lil 1.6L engine, unassuming station wagon bodywork, but it was a heck of a lot of fun to drive, especially up and down Phuket's hills!
