15 suspected gamblers caught by Banglamung Police

PATTAYA: -- A well-organized gambling den, which operates around-the-clock, has been shut down by Banglamung Police. An informant provided information to Police about the den which was situated in a field behind a house in the Takiendier area of Banglamung. On Wednesday afternoon, a group of around 20 officers converged on the location and managed to detain 15 suspected gamblers and seized gambling equipment. The owner of the property Khun Somsee aged 40 claimed to receive 1,500 Baht per day for the use of her home and the organizer of the den, Khun Sitisak aged 21 claimed to be paying off local Police Officers who would ignore the illegal gambling den.

Khun Sitisak aged 21 claimed to be paying off local Police Officers who would ignore the illegal gambling den. This claim was refuted by Police Colonel Somnook, the Banglamung Police Chief who said he could guarantee his officers would never do such a thing. All 15 were charged with gambling and will appear in Court later this week.
