September 16, 201114 yr Hi, Just back from an check up at Design Dental, recommended from this and Ajarn forum. The background is, I convinced myself I have bad gum disease and need X4 root scaling. I'm going back to Uk in a couple of weeks, so then back in November, so have general scale and any bad news now, then come back Nov. and spend a month getiing it all done. I went to Design Dental just up from Soi Cowboy. There are posted prices, either 1000 for check, clean and two basic x rays, or only scaling for 800-1000. I turned up without an appointment and they saw me in half an hour. I explained the situation. They looked at me and cleaned me in about 40-45 mins. Everyone spoke English and all were professinal. I asked about coming back, and he said I don't need it. I just have a leaking filling, that should be replaced, but no rush. Very different to the lying quacks you get in the UK. Only downside was, it was 1000, and 100 steralisation fee. Why they don't mention the 100 I don't know as I wouldn't have minded. Apart from that, very friendly, honest, English speaking and respectful. I'll go again and I recommend it.
September 16, 201114 yr Always good to hear another fantastic dental experience in Thailand. It's really true
September 16, 201114 yr A good place to start is your local Govt . dental clinic ,attached to your local Govt, hospital. They are really very good, with very modern gear, and very cheap. All you need is a Govt. hospital card number -in you gogo(if that is your desire). ALL dentists in Thailand are trained by they the Govt., whether they are in Govt. , or private practice, Only a very few ,in major population centres have studied overseas. The Govt. clinics are very good
September 17, 201114 yr Well not always pleasant. I called Pram9 andthey said cleaning is 800 bth and I went there, I guess I should have askedabout the price again but did not and assume it would be 800. After theyfinished they gave a bill for 2200 bth very schoking but too late to anything todo so avoid Pram 9

September 18, 201114 yr Author I think I prefer where I went as they're used to dealing with Farangs. One thing I liked about DD was there was only one receptionist, rather than the usual cast of thousands all standing round taking the P***.
September 19, 201114 yr just wonder " Design Dental just up from Soi Cowboy " same as " Dental Design Clinic & Lab "?
