Pe Teacher In Thailand

Featured Replies

Hi, does anyone the qualifications to become a teacher in Thailand and the pay is like in Thailand as I'm currently studying a BSc in sport science in England but I would like to work in Thailand , and if I wanted to work in an international school would I need a PGCE.

any information would be great

thank you.

You need a undergraduate degree, if for internetional school you also need your teaching certificate. PM me I can give you my friend email who teaches in Bangkok at a international school. As for pay 120,000baht a month at his school. There are job fairs for international schools world wide that you can attend and submit your resume and take interviews.

Googlr teaching international schools there is a lot of info about this.

Moved to the Teaching Forum where you should get more help.

Definitely get the PGCE, and if possible stay on a year or two working in a school at home before you apply here; otherwise, you risk being lumped in with other 'nonstandard' local teachers and given lower benefits on that excuse.

Well I will get my Physical Education degree in May 2012. Will it be hard for me to get an International school job? The only experience I have is student teaching and coaching American Football.

Good on you.

International Schools in Thailand mainly hire teachers with a degree in education and a teaching certification from the country the International Schools' curriculum adhere to.

I have a NVQ Level 3 In Sports Science, a decent background in the Sports & Fitness industry and quite easily got a job as a P.E teacher at a private school here in Bangkok. But the wage is slightly different as stated above. expect around 35k basic a month with a wage increase every 3 months. Best perk about the P.E teachers job where I work is that no classes on Monday due to military and only 4 x 50 min classes per day finishing at 2.15pm so although to wage isn't top dollar there's alot of positives

Whoa, how did you find that job? I will have a Physical Education degree next May and I would love to teach that in Thailand.
