thaifkrlim
why do you throw your feces stained toilet paper in the bin beside the toilet bowl, instead of flushing it down together with your still-hot-defecation produce, since you know it causes a major reek, bad for public sanitation. for the benefit of the public, if you choose neither one, you can fold it up and put it in your pocket, bring it back home. even the very expensive and high grade bio-nano air refreshener cum odour remover purchased from the high class specialised superstore will not neutralise the putrid decaying waste in the bin, but the accidental concoction actually produces an adulterated stench of flatulent french parfume
chiang mai
We do that because there are very few sewerage treatment plants in Thailand and even fewer that can breakdown the non-biodegradability tissue. personally I reckon Thai's are to be commended for separating the issues, no pun or play on words intended! thaifkrlim
as far as i know , all paper toilet paper are biodegradable, how does one pollute the country by flushing tissue paper down the bowl, being more politically incorrect than polluting the atmosphere and irritating people with the foul smell of toxic excretion on paper

Yes, human fecal matter is toxic but that does not mean that if you ate a spoonful it would kill you immediately. Toxicity is measured by many ways, minor and major, one by inhalation exposure, and our fecal matter is full of chemicals that our bodies chose not to absorb

bkkjames
I wanna know who washes the bum guns after you have used it? Reason enough to use tissue and flush it. Oh, you mean putting the tissue in the basket means it will go off to some biodegrable recycling type facility unlike when I flush it? Goodness me, what was I thinking all this time. afarang
Wow, don't you understand? , there is NO sewage system in Thailand. It is all septic tanks. They cannot handle toilet paper, cannot process it..All it does is block up the system .Causes big problems. I cannot fathom why people want to use T.P. The gun is so much better .makes you much cleaner. I had to go back to Oz, the Govt. said I had to spend 2 years there. First thing I did was buy a gun.T.P. hurt!!! T.P is environmentally a disaster.
bkkjames
So now I know the reason for flooding. Shame on all you ass whipers. Ok smartie pants, why do they sell the stuff then? Don't tell me its really to be used only on the tables in lieu of actual napkins at cheap restaurants? Spare a thought for the rubbish collectors as well, imagine if we just binned it as you suggest-them looking inside for plastic bottles and only finding your skid marks. We are in thailand and its an everyday issue (for most). Granted not as exciting as nfl football withdrawl suffered by true subscribers, but a compelling topic nonetheless. I am just surprised JT hasn't come along and offered to do a poll on it. Spray? Wipe and bin or wipe and flush, none of the above?
