What Snake?

Sna

Snake in the garden of my neighbour!

Some 3 meter long.

We don't know too much about snakes but my neighbour thinks it's a Burmese Pyton.

Anyone knows better?

Nice looking snake! Sorry I'm not an expert, don't know what is. It looks as though it has been injured. Did your neighbor whack him with a shovel or something? Hopefully not...

Yes, as previously mentioned, it's a reticulated python. Non-venomous but can still bite. Beautiful picture! (except for the blood?) Not long ago I had a Burmese python (around 2 meters) visit us in our yard.

Thanks to all for the comments and thanks to ThaiWx for the compliment.

And yes, snake has some wounds over his body.

Photos like this remind me of how fortunate life can be here sometimes, beautiful creature

As others have mentioned, it is a reticulated python that are native to Thailand. It's unfortunate that locals kill snakes or try to kill them. Snakes do a lot of good in getting rid of rats that carry disease. Most snakes like water nearby and that is especially true with pythons. Leave snakes alone and they will leave you alone. But, in times of flooding the snakes will move into the dry areas where humans have congregated and that causes conflict.
